Magnus Skulstad Named Head Coach of U.S. Women’s Team

The Women’s U.S. National Floorball Team is excited to announce the appointment of Magnus Skulstad as Head Coach. Skulstad will lead the program through the upcoming international competition cycle, with a focus on long-term development, competitive excellence, and continued growth on the world stage.

Working within the national team structure, Skulstad’s approach emphasizes player development, team culture, and creating clear pathways for athletes to reach their full potential, both individually and collectively. An important early priority will be gaining a comprehensive understanding of the player pool while building strong collaboration with the broader national team staff and organization.

"Magnus brings exactly the combination of international experience and player-development philosophy our program needs at this stage," said Caitlin Bebout, General Manager of the U.S. Women's Team. "As we build toward the next competition cycle and beyond, his track record leading national team programs at the highest levels gave us confidence he's the right person to guide our athletes, and our program, into its next chapter."

"I look forward to a strong collaboration toward new goals and to contributing my experience and knowledge. An important early step will be getting to know the players, the organization, and the team around the national program."

About the Coach

Magnus Skulstad brings more than 25 years of experience in floorball, having been involved in the sport since the early 1990s. He began coaching early in his career and has remained deeply motivated by athlete development, leadership, and creating environments that foster motivation and long-term success.

In recent years, Skulstad has served as both National Coach for the Norwegian Women’s National Team and National Head Coach for Norway’s U19 Women’s National Team, providing him with extensive international experience at the highest levels of competition. His background includes leadership roles within the Norwegian Floorball Federation, regional federation management, and national recruitment initiatives.

Skulstad holds advanced education in coaching, sports science, and pedagogy, including a Master's degree in Sports Science, and has completed elite-level coaching certifications. His coaching expertise includes match coaching, tactical development, video analysis, and clear, athlete-centered communication.

“These experiences have shaped me as a leader,” Skulstad added. “I look forward to using my knowledge to create a strong foundation for the athletes as we work toward new goals together.”
